Work Study/Non-Work Study Student Employment
Federal Work Study
Eligibility for this program is based on financial need. The financial aid administrator will determine the Federal work study eligibility based on your expected family contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA and the number of credit hours in which you are enrolled. The program provides on- and off-campus jobs for undergraduate students who are enrolled at least half-time. You are eligible to earn up to the amount of eligibility and are paid on a bi-weekly basis. The rate of pay is the federal minimum wage. Work study hours are typically 10-20 hours per week. Once you have applied for a position, the hiring department and Human Resources will reach out to our office to request your work study eligibility.
Work study is only earned if you are hired for a position at HCC.
It is the student's responsibility to review the job listings and secure a position.

Non-Work Study
Students who are not eligible for the Federal Work Study program can still find on-campus employment. Many jobs are available to students that are funded 100% by the department employing the student.
