Many organizations outside of Heartland offer additional scholarship opportunities. The availability of these scholarships is subject to change. HCC does not endorse or sponsor these external scholarships. 

 

First-Generation College Student Scholarship 

$1,000 scholarship awarded to a student who demonstrates a deep appreciation for what it means to be a first-generation student.

Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority 

The education sorority of Alpha Delta Kappa, Mu Chapter, is offering a $500 scholarship to Education majors who graduated from a high school in Logan or Dewitt County.

Illinois Sheriff’s Association College Scholarship 

Sheriff John Sandage, McLean County, will be awarding one scholarship in the amount of $500.

AmericanTrucks Scholarship

2 scholarships for $2,500 each are awarded twice a year (2 scholarships total) to students who are currently enrolled full-time in a secondary vocational school, technical institute, or are high school seniors who are enrolled in one of the aforementioned institutes.

Sygma Technology Scholarship 

This $1,000 scholarship program has been created with the purpose of assisting underrepresented students who have an interest in STEM and believe in the merits of using technology and creativity to enhance our everyday lives. Domestic, International, or undocumented student may apply.

Soroptimist Live Your Dream: Education & Training Awards for Women Scholarship 

$1,000 to $16,000 award. Helping women around the world since 1972. This program provides cash grants to women who are working better their lives through additional schooling and skills training.

Fob James Law Firm Scholarship Contest 

This is an essay scholarship contest that would be awarding the winner $1,000 scholarship. The student will explain a personal challenge they experience and how the experience molded them into the person they are.

Mary Rohrscheib Teaching Scholarship 

This is a scholarship for two students that will receive $1,000 scholarship. This scholarship is in memory of Mary Rohrscheib whom was the grandmother of Josh Rohrscheib that was a devoted third and fourth grade teacher.

ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship 

This scholarship will award (10) $1,000 college scholarships to students. To be eligible you must be a current high school senior from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin who attend college in Fall 2021.

Henry County Soil and Water Conservation Scholarship: 

This scholarship is for (1) $500 scholarship to college student presently in their sophomore year or junior year at an institution of high learning who is pursuing a career in the area of conservation and/or the environment. First consideration is given to residents of Henry County.

Bloomington-Normal IL Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Assocation: 

This scholarship is for $1,000 funded through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education to female students will be attending accredited U.S. colleges, universities, and community/vocational schools. Applicants must be citizens of the United States; residents of Illinois; entering (high school graduating seniors, college freshman, sophomore, etc.) in August 2022 and attending Heartland Community College, with a GPA of (2.5- 4.0) or higher. LERMI Support Law Enforcement Scholarship: 

Scholarship must be a high school senior or recent graduate who is pursuing a post-secondary education in criminal justice. Student with a parent* presently serving in law enforcement or Student with a parent* who retired, or a student with a parent* in the law enforcement who lost their life in the line of duty, or a student with a parent* in law enforcement who passed away.

Judge Jeanne E Scott Scholarship:  

One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded in 2022. This scholarship is nonrenewable and funded by the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association (CIWBA) and the Sangamon County Bar Association (SCBA). This is a discretionary monetary award to be used for school expenses.
