Note: Pre-admission courses assume college-level placement in literacy and math (via ACT/SAT scores, placement testing, or previously completed college-level coursework). Refer to planning guide for admission requirements and deadlines.

  • Tuesday & Thursday:  8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (optional Open Lab from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.)

1st Year Summer Semester

  • Full time clinicals:  5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 4-6 weeks (must complete 160 contact hours).  Begins the Monday after finals (May) and lasts through June.

    • (PTA 215 is a Hybrid = online as well as face-to-face once a week on Monday)
    • (PTA 230 is a Hybrid = online as well as face-to-face once a week on Wednesday)
  • Tuesday & Thursday:  8:00 a.m. - 12:50 p.m. (optional Open Lab from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

2nd Year Spring Semester

  • Meet on campus 4-6 different days for 4-6 hours
  • Full time clinicals:  5 days/week, 8 hours/day (must complete 240 contact hours).  Begins 3rd week of January.
  • Full time clinicals:  5 days/week, 8 hours/day (must complete 240 contact hours).  Begins in March.

NOTE:

  • The HCC PTA program (faculty, students) must adhere to all health and safety requirements of the contracted clinical affiliations, as well as state and federal statutes and/or mandates. This may include but is not limited to: vaccinations, protective equipment, training, etc.
  • Clinicals will encompass a need to travel within a radius of up to 90 miles from Heartland Community College.
