Associate in Arts

Associate in Arts

The Associate in Arts (AA) degree prepares students to transfer into a wide range of bachelor's degree programs in the arts, communication, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, or professional fields with these study areas as a foundation. The AA degree has a full general education package (GECC) fully incorporated. Students who complete the AA degree and transfer should have their general education requirements waived at the next 4-year IAI participating institution they choose to attend.

Within our transfer degree programs, specific courses may be recommended based on a student’s intended major and transfer institution. Students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor each semester to ensure they are taking the appropriate coursework while completing their degree requirements.

Even if a student’s specific concentration or major is not listed on the application or program pages, academic advisors can help ensure the right coursework is taken for the student’s chosen major.
