Welcome to the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (LASS) Division at Heartland.
We offer a broad range of courses that meet requirements for the general education core curriculum for an associate degree or for transfer preparation to a four-year college or university. LASS provides an exciting selection of studies in the areas of:

Writing Contests
The Paul Simon Essay Contest and the Gandhi/King Peace Essay Contest are available this spring. Each comes with a cash prize for the HCC winner and entrance into the state-wide contest which also has a cash prize.
The submission deadline is 11:59 pm on March 1.
