English Literacy & Modern Languages

Comprehensive reading, effective writing and well-developed critical thinking skills are essential to success.

Our program includes literature, writing and modern languages.

Literature

  • Sure our Literature courses are sometimes challenging, but they are also exciting, fun and even sometimes life-changing
  • Children’s Literature, Graphic Novels, Film and Literature, Storytelling, Dystopian Literature, Sci-Fi and Fantasy and Burned and Banned Literature are just a few of the things you’ll be studying in our comprehensive program.

Writing (Composition)

  • ENGL 099/101 is a bridge course that offers extra help to those students who struggle with writing while also introducing students to college-level composition
  • ENGL 101 exposes students to a wide range of tools that are available and necessary to 21st century writers
  • ENGL 102 is a multimodal course that moves writing “beyond writing” into a variety of genres shaped by students’ academic or career interests
