  • In our global economy, fluency in multiple languages is more important than ever. Speaking, reading and writing in a specific language is the best way for you to become proficient. You'll also learn about the cultures of those who speak the language you are exploring.

  • Languages offered at HCC include Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish. Semester-long study abroad opportunities to places like Austria, China, Costa Rica, Spain, England and Australia, along with local cultural tours-offer you the chance to further build cultural awareness and language skills.

  • With today's virtual connectivity, having cultural knowledge, sensitivity and a background in other languages opens the door to many exciting career opportunities, including:

    Associate in Arts - Concentration in Languages

    The Associate in Arts (AA) transfer preparation program is the path for you if you plan to complete the first two years of study at Heartland and then continue your studies at a four-year institution in Illinois majoring in:
