NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE FOR HEARTLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT #540
I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for Heartland Community College District No. 540, Counties of DeWitt, Ford, Livingston, Logan, McLean, and Tazewell, and State of Illinois, for 2025 will be held on December 16, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Heartland Community College, Community Commons Building Room 1406/1407, 1500 West Raab Road, Normal, Illinois 61761.

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended for 2024 were $24,445,272.
The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $27,167,641. This represents an 11.14% increase over the previous year.
III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2024 were $13,189,173.
The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2025 are $13,382,348. This represents an 1.46% increase over the previous year.
IV. The total property taxes extended for 2024 were $37,634,445.
The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $40,549,989. This represents a 7.75% increase over the previous year.
