The Anthropology program explores how human culture, language and biology has changed over time.This program will give you a broad understanding of humanity and the theoretical and methodological background necessary to appreciate human diversity.

Program Highlights

The famous anthropologist Ruth Benedict once shared "The purpose of anthropology is to make the world safe for human differences." Heartland's curriculum draws on global examples and focuses on the development of humans in relation to their physical and social environment. You'll explore the broad variations of cultural expressions as well as their common characteristics.

Heartland Community College is a participant in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide transfer agreement among more than 100 colleges and universities in Illinois.
