Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC)

Supporting the College's commitment to educating the whole student, we provide an engaging environment for you to promote community learning and personal development.

Academic programs that relate to careers in sports management, recreation and physical education also are housed in the facility.

Types of Membership

Students and Employees

The FRC is free to all current students enrolled in at least one credit course at the College, as well as all current employees.

Community Members

Public access membership to the FRC is available through Community Education.

Heartland Smart Steppers Walking Group

Heartland Smart Steppers Walking Group provides use of the Heartland walking track to all community members.

Enjoy the benefits of a walking group:

The Heartland Smart Steppers walk anytime the FRC is open*. Each person receives a free pedometer, coffee in the lounge area off the track and incentives for miles walked.

*Walkers are discouraged from using the track from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. because it's in high use at the time by student athletes.

Member Check In

Eligible members are required to check in at the FRC front desk, located on the first floor at the bottom of the main stairwell, or at the desk located inside the south entrance. Students and employees can check in using their Heartland ID.
