Lyndsie Sclink: View Finder

On display until Friday May 4th, 2018

The Joe McCauley Gallery at Heartland Community College presents View Finder, a selection of digital photographs by Lyndsie Schlink, February 12 through May 4. An artist reception takes place Wednesday, February 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the gallery.

View Finder presents a selection of Schlink's photographs, dated from 2012 to present, that reflect her background in fine arts and photojournalism. In landscapes and portraits, she captures and composes closely viewed to distant perspectives, using both studio and ambient light, with minimal post-production image editing.

Shot during her career as Senior Photographer at Illinois State University, each photograph is Untitled, with exact dates and accompanying descriptions that provide chronological, biographical and directional context to viewers.

While Schlink's ISU work is widely published in digital formats as magazine covers, brochures and other print publications, this exhibition represents the first time this work has been printed solely as photographs on display in a gallery setting.

After the close of the McCauley Gallery show, View Finder will be displayed in Milner Library at Illinois State University.
