District 540 Board of Trustees special meeting on 12/10

Heartland Community College’s Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting to address a vacancy on the Board. 

The Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 540, Counties of DeWitt, Ford, Livingston, Logan, McLean and Tazewell, and State of Illinois, commonly known as Heartland Community College (HCC), will hold a special meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The meeting will be held in the Community Commons Building (CCB) Room 2012 on the Main Campus (1500 W. Raab Rd., Normal).

At this meeting the Board will consider an appointment to the Trustee seat vacated by the resignation of Board member Jeffrey Flessner. 

Flessner announced his resignation from the District 540 Board effective Dec 1, 2024. The Board has 60 days from Dec 1, 2024, to make an appointment to fill the seat for the remainder of the term, which expires in April of 2025.    

Flessner’s vacant seat is one of three six-year term positions open for election on April 1, 2025. The appointee filling the vacant seat will serve until a new Trustee is elected and sworn in.
