Congressman Sorensen tours Ag Complex and Advanced Manufacturing Center

U.S. Congressman Eric Sorensen visited Heartland Community College to tour two new facilities which opened in January. 

Congressman Sorensen and staff visited with Heartland Provost Rick Pearce, Associate Director of Agriculture Kortney Watts, and Dean of Career and Technical Education Adam Campbell, on a tour of the college’s new Advanced Manufacturing Center and Agriculture Complex. Both facilities opened on the Heartland Community College Main Campus in Normal in January, 2024. 

Programs supported by the Advanced Manufacturing Center include Electric Vehicle Technology, Renewable Energy, HVAC, Electronics, Robotics, Automation, and more. The Agriculture Complex supports Agronomy, Plant Science, Precision Planting, Soil Analysis, and other agribusiness programs.
