Heartland names Head Softball Coach
August 12, 2024Heartland Community College will have a new Head Softball Coach for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year.
Krystal Goodman has been named as Head Softball Coach for the Heartland Hawks Softball Team. She will also serve as a Success Coach for Heartland’s students.
Goodman comes to Heartland from Radford University in Virginia, where she served as Assistant Coach for the NCAA Division I school. She previously was an Assistant Coach at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Goodman’s playing career includes undergraduate years at Chipola College (Marianna, FL) and the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL). At Chipola she was a two-time 1st Team All-American and NJCAA 1st D I Pitcher of the Year. She made two Women’s College World Series appearances at the University of Alabama and finished her collegiate career as a two-time SEC Champion. Goodman additionally spent a season as a professional softball player playing in Italy and the Netherlands.
“Krystal brings our Heartland students not only a great deal of technical coaching expertise but also a background of success as a collegiate athlete,” said Athletics Director Ryan Knox. “We can’t wait to see her influence on our squad as we kick off our fall semester.”
Goodman holds a Master of Science in Sport Management from The University of Southern Mississippi, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences from The University of Alabama, and an Associate of Arts from Chipola College.
