CTE Dean Adam Campbell honored by Technology Education Association of Illinois
October 24, 2025Heartland Community College Dean of Career and Technical Education Adam Campbell has been honored by the Technology Education Association of Illinois (TEAI).
Campbell was named 2025 TEAI Administrator of the Year.
Each year, the TEAI awards individuals and programs making significant contributions to the field of technology education. The award is an acknowledgement of an outstanding administrator of technology education (and its related areas) who has given years of service to his/her profession by contributing publications, presentations, innovations, and renovations, and has demonstrated leadership at the local, state, and national levels.
As Dean of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Division, Campbell oversees a diverse array of certificate and degree programs in disciplines such as Business Technology, Computer Networking, Computer Science, Digital Media, Industrial Maintenance, HVAC, Renewable Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, and one of the nation’s pioneering programs in Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Technology.
Campbell has been in higher education for 18 years, first as a CTE instructor in the Illinois Department of Corrections, where he helped design and deliver programming for offenders nearing release to equip them with essential skills to increase reentry success.
He also served as Senior Assistant Director of the Illinois Board of Higher Education’s Private Business and Vocational Schools Division, where he contributed to regulatory oversight and quality assurance in vocational education. With the IBHE, Adam worked as part of a statewide group to define high-quality credentials, reinforced and supported industry standards in technical education, and served as one of the State’s leaders in investigating human trafficking in post-secondary technical schools.
He also currently serves as a co-chair of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce’s Manufacturers’ Roundtable and sits on the board for Junior Achievement of McLean County.
Campbell was recognized on October 24th at the Illinois Technology Education Conference (ITEC) held on the campus of Illinois State University.
