HCC Lincoln offering more opportunities for Workforce Training
July 23, 2026Heartland Community College Lincoln is offering workforce training courses beginning in August. These courses help students gain certifications to enter directly into the workforce.
New to the Lincoln location this fall term are HVAC-R Installer certificate courses. This microcertificate prepares students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to work as an HVAC-R Installer in residential and industrial facilities.
The HVAC-R certificate courses in Lincoln have the following meeting times at HCC Lincoln’s center for a 16-week session:
- Air Condition & Refrigeration I (HVAC 102): Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m.
- Heating Systems I (HVAC 103): Thursdays, 5:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m.
To complete the HVAC-R certificate this fall term, students will also need to complete the following classes online:
- Employment Success Strategies (BTEC 145), or Workplace Success (SCED 110)
- OSHA General Industry Safety (TECH 172)
The Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG Welding) microcertificate also continues in Lincoln this fall with two 8-week courses:
- Introduction to Gas Metal Arc Welding (WELD 118): Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m.
- Advanced Gas Metal Arc Welding (WELD 218): Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m.
Truck Driver Training is also now available at Heartland Community College Lincoln. Students gain classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training to earn their CDL A license. Class runs from September 8 to October 5, Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Registration for Truck Driver Training must be complete and on file by August 24.
