Brandt Welding Academy
TECH 296: Brandt Academy (3 credits)**
**This is a special topics/selective entry class – you will need to apply, interview, and be accepted to enroll in this course**

Class begins March 20th and will be held on Fridays (1 p.m. to 10 p.m.) and Saturdays (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) from March 20 through April 11th. This is a highly competitive program with only 10 seats available. Participants will be chosen based on their application materials and interview. Successful completion of this course results in a job interview with Brandt management!
Is This Class for You?
- Are you interested in working full-time at Brandt?
- Have you completed WELD 110?
- Can you commit to attending class on Friday afternoon/evenings and Saturdays all day for four weeks?
- Are you excited about becoming a welder? Do you display professionalism and enthusiasm for the welding field?
- Do you need elective credit to complete your Welding Skills Certificate or Industrial Technology program?
What You Will Learn
- Welding techniques and practices used at Brandt
- Advanced MIG welding skills
- Workplace skills and professionalism
Cost
- The cost for this course is the same as a 3-credit hour course: $474 plus $70 course fees.
Application Process
- Complete the application by Wednesday, February 26th by 5 p.m. No late applications will be accepted.
- Potential candidates will be asked to perform a weld test and interview with HCC and Brandt staff during the week of March 2nd.
- Selected participants will be notified on March 6th and will be required to complete a contract.
