Heartland Community College Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges

Thank you for your interest in the HCC Chapter of the AAWCC!

Purpose of the AAWCC (https://aawccnatl.org/Constitution): 

  • To foster the development of comprehensive educational, career, and life opportunities for all persons;
  • To provide information, assistance and support for all educators as they serve two-year college students through providing education and services that are sensitive to the needs of women students;
  • To encourage and support professional development and advancement of all women employed and/or enrolled in a community, junior, or technical college;
  • To collect and disseminate data and research relating to women’s professional development issues;
  • To support the goals and objectives of the American Association of Community Colleges.
  • To promote equity and education for community college women students.

Additionally, the purpose of the HCC Chapter of the AAWCC:

  • To encourage women in leadership roles to connect with other women at HCC. 
  • To develop communications among women students and women in all employee categories at HCC. 
  • To promote and offer women-related special events at HCC. 
  • To disseminate information on courses, programs, and services for women.
