Computer Science Information
Do you find yourself spending endless hours exploring "behind the scenes" of your computer programs? Are you interested in knowing how those programs work and interact? Studying information technology prepares you for a variety of entry-level positions that will allow you to do just that.
While many programs are simple and take only a few days to write, others like computer operating systems can take a year or more to complete.
As a graduate of HCC's IT program, you'll have a variety of options available to you. You may seek immediate employment or continue your education in a bachelor's degree program. Four-year degree options include programs such as computer science, information technology, digital media and management information systems.
The outlook for employment in the IT field is expected to rise. In May 2012, the median annual wage of computer programmers was $74,280 and $79,680 for computer systems analysts.*
