Individual and Group Therapy
If you are currently enrolled at HCC and want to receive therapy, call us at 309-268-8390, walk into SCB 2400 or contact us via email at Counseling@heartland.edu
Student Counseling Services offers face-to-face and virtual individual counseling for any student who wants to explore personal concerns one-to-one with a therapist. Concerns vary from coping with the challenges of college life to more severe emotional and interpersonal problems. A variety of therapeutic approaches may be used to help you identify and understand the source(s) of your difficulties. Such insights may then be translated into plans for action and change.
Group therapy offers a supportive environment for your personal development and resolution of your interpersonal concerns. Group therapy affords the unique opportunity of joining a small group of students who share similar concerns. Groups usually form at the beginning of each semester and typically meet once a week for about 60 minutes. Groups offered include:
- General Therapy Groups
- Support Groups
- Groups focused on specific issues such as stress & depression
Take advantage of this opportunity to learn, share, and grow with others. All groups require a pre-group interest appointment. If you would like to find out more about a specific group, or would like to request that a group be offered, please contact Student Counseling Services.
