Education
Thinking about becoming a Teacher?
- Do you have a passion for school-age children?
- Is there a grade level or subject area that appeals to me?
- Do I want to work with students who have disabilities?
If you answered yes, then you should start your training to become a teacher in the Heartland Education Program. In our education program you will take courses that will help you explore your motives for wanting to become a teacher, gain a realistic understanding of the teaching profession, understand how school systems function in our society, explore the complexities of working with students, and begin to develop skills and habits of a reflective practitioner.
We will help you determine if you want to teach in elementary, middle level, high school or work with students with disabilities through study, class activities and school/teacher observations.
Complete your Associates Degree and prepare to transfer directly into your major to continue your teacher training.
