Antique Tractor Connects History and Technology at Heartland’s Ag Complex
July 30, 2024Heartland’s Agriculture Complex is the new home to an antique piece of farming equipment. Dave Bishop, part-time faculty in Agriculture, and pioneer in the development of Heartland’s Regenerative Agriculture certificate, donated his family's 1927 McCormick-Deering tractor for display.
Students in agriculture engineering courses at Lincoln Community High School (LCHS) gave it a second life, restoring it under the direction of agriculture educators Allison Bode and Molly Schempp.
Heartland’s Agriculture Complex will showcase the antique tractor in an ultra-modern setting, illustrating the past, present, and future of the agriculture industry in Central Illinois.
