Apply for Graduation

Don't forget to submit your Application for Graduation. It must be submitted before a degree or certificate is awarded.

Heartland Community College confers degrees and certificates at the end of each semester.  You MUST submit a graduation application, regardless of whether you intend to participate in the commencement ceremony.

The graduation application is accessed through your Student Center (follow steps outlined below).  A separate application must be submitted for each degree or certificate.  Questions regarding the application should be directed to the Records Office.

 Graduation Application Instructions

  1. Go to the myHeartland page
  2. Click the Student Center button
  3. Enter your login name and password
  4. Click the Academic Records tile
  5. Click Graduation Application and follow the prompts
  6. Repeat if completing more than one degree

If a student does not meet the requirements to graduate, they should reapply for a future graduation term upon successful registration of the required courses. 

While submitting the graduation application, you will be asked whether or not you would like to attend Commencement. If you indicate yes, view this handout to view how to complete the Commencement Participation Task. If you need to make changes to your graduation application or your commencement task, view this handout. 

If you initially indicated you were not planning to participate in the commencement ceremony and later decide you would like to participate, contact HCC Records Office.
