Advisement Frequently Asked Questions
- Visit this website and select the student population you are in below for the ways to make an advising appointment.
- If you would like to switch your assigned academic advisor, please email advising@heartland.edu and include your name and ID number. If there is a specific advisor you would like to request, please include that in your email as well.
- Registering for classes is easy!
You can view your midterm and your final grades in your Student Center.
How to view your grades:
- Go to home.heartland.edu
- Click on Student Center
- Enter your login name and password
- Click on the Academic Transcripts / Grades tile
- The best way to be sure your credits will transfer is to be in contact with your intended transfer college or university. During your time at Heartland stay up to date with current transfer information and meet with your advisor regularly.
Please consult with your academic advisor for details on your specific plan of study to determine your timeline toward graduation. Please call 309.268.8033 or use the Heartland Navigate tile found in your Student Center to make an appointment with an advisor.

*Changes to a permanent address must be made in the Records Office (CCB 1600) by submitting either a driver's license, state ID, or property tax bill. The document may be submitted electronically to records@heartland.edu. Include in the email that you are sending the document to update your permanent address. If you prefer to submit documents in person, the Records Office (CCB 1600) is open M-F 8am-4:30pm.- If you would like your Heartland transcript sent to another college or university, please submit a request for Heartland transcripts.
- An application for graduation must be submitted before a degree or certificate is awarded. You MUST submit a graduation application, regardless of whether you intend to participate in the commencement ceremony. Please visit this website for more information and deadlines.
