Other Projects

The Facilities Master Plan calls for a number of other projects that will transform the Main Campus. 

Projects include renovations of the Workforce Development Center (WDC) to house student services, Science Lab remodels, infrastructure updates, and additional work on the Landscape Master Plan.

Below see a list of projects that are ongoing, completed, or planned for the near future.

As the College moves forward with our Facilities Master Plan, we will have multiple projects underway this fall.  Below is a (fairly lengthy) update of the major work that is happening.  Please take a look, as this may affect how you get around campus, and subscribe to the HCC-ACCESS Text Alerts by texting JOIN HCC-ACCESS to 31389.

Student Services: Second floor & entrance WDC
Redesign of south entrance. Plaza added to south side of building. Second elevator will be installed. Enrollment Services and Student Access and Accommodation Services will move to the second floor. Vermilion Way will remain closed to general vehicular circulation between WDC and ICN, while the parking lots to the east and west stay open. Please use caution during construction.  

North, East, and West entrances are open. The South entrance will remain closed until April 2027 when the renovation is complete.

CDL Heat Pump Replacement
Ceiling down on the academic side of the building to replace all heat pumps with more efficient models.  


Drainage and Lighting Improvements
Install drainage tile will be installed between ICN and ICB. Sidewalk access will be temporarily affected.  Light poles will be added along sidewalks connecting from Raab Road to Vermillion Way (through Quad). The sidewalk between ICN and ICB are closed until 8/31.

Country Financial Trail
Repair and replacement on an area of the north end of the trail.  Bridge provides access around construction area.  Full trail remains open.
