Course Information

The HALO Transition Year allows students to explore the question "What is Next?" This year-long experience assists students in transitioning into College or the Work Force with the support of their peers and instructors. Students will engage in experiential activities alongside their coursework to identify their future goals. 

The classes are listed below by scheduled semester and cost. 

Course Schedule

Fall 2025

Social-Emotional Development

Cost: $550

This course will assist students in understanding who they are within a social world and how emotions can be managed and expressed. This is achieved by looking at the five pillars of social-emotional learning: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. 

Transition to College or Workforce

Cost: $550

THis course will assist students in understanding and implementing the skill necessary to transitioning to college or the workforce. Students will gain and understand both the pros and cons of college and the workforce and the pathway for future goals. 

Spring 2026

Success Education - Life Success

Cost: $550

This course will help students gain awareness of their academic, career and personal selves and facilitate development in each of these areas. Focus will be placed on gaining knowledge of self, identifying areas of strength and those needing improvement and mastering the tools necessary to achieve growth in these life areas. 

Professionalism

Cost: $550

This course will review and improve upon individual personal standards for the workforce and/or college. Students work on practicing their professionalism skills whether it be for college or the workforce.
