Study Abroad Programs

We are proud to offer the following Study Abroad programs through various partnerships, including with the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs (ICISP), for whom Heartland Community College is the Host College.

These programs vary in length from two weeks to three months and provide students with exceptional choices of programming and experiences. No matter what your interests, we can find a program that fits your needs!

You will have the opportunity to travel through time as you explore the social, political and historical aspects of British culture while you take classes with British students from British teachers.

Finland

This short program takes students to Joensuu , Finland to study at Riveria, one of the largest vocational education and training providers in Finland. Riveria offers 130 different qualifications in industry & construction.

France

In partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S., and the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs (ICISP), we offer two different summer programs to France. 

Ireland

Located just 45 miles southwest of Dublin and east of the Wicklow Mountains, Carlow is a wonderful study abroad location for students interested in small town feel and intimate Irish experiences

Italy

As a place that has inspired famous artists for centuries, Tuscania has developed a reputation as a center for new artistic forms of expression. This hilltop town is located on the border of the Tuscany and is close to Rome, in the breathtaking countryside.

Japan

In partnership with College of DuPage and Parkland College, we are proud to offer two summer programs that will allow students to experience either a two-week or month-long program to Japan focused on either humanities or culinary experiences.

Netherlands

This short program takes students to Amsterdam, Netherlands to study at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Are you looking for a truly unique educational experience and want to see summer life in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe?

South Africa

These two short-term programs will allow agriculture and health science students to gain service-learning experience in Cape Town by working with local organizations at the front lines of agriculture sustainability and community health work.
