Then, print and follow the instructions in the Get Rolling! (PDF) below. It will take about a month to finish all the required steps before you can register.
(Heartland only offers CDL Class A training. It does not offer preparation for a Class B license. Check the U.S. Department of Transportation Training Provider Registry to search for Class B options.)

Join us for an open house where you can:
- Explore a real semitractor-trailer and see what life on the road is all about.
- Test your skills on a truck driving simulator and get a feel for the experience.
- Discover how our CDL training program can help you start your journey toward becoming a professional truck driver.
- Talk with experts at Nussbaum Transportation and Nussbaum Trucking Academy at
Heartland Community College.
Look for the Academy semitractor-trailer near the first entrance to our parking lot. The open house will be on the south end of the office building. We will have our tent set up as well.

Daytime Classes in Normal
Daytime classes run 4 weeks, Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM
- July 6 – July 31
- Aug. 3 – Aug. 28
- Sept. 8 - Oct. 5*
- Oct. 12 - Nov. 6
- Nov. 16 - Dec. 15*
Evening Classes in Normal
Evening classes run 8 weeks, Monday-Friday, 5-9PM
- July 6-Aug. 28
- Sept. 14-Nov. 6
*Classes containing school holidays: Memorial Day, 5/25; Juneteenth 6/19, Labor Day, 9/7; and Thanksgiving break, 11/26–11/27

- Because safe and effective operation of the vehicle is a vital skill for commercial truck drivers, you must show steady progress throughout the entire academy training. Review Expectations for Progress PDF for full details.
